We’ve all been teenagers, and lived through that bumbling, awkward age, so we all know how family holidays can be full of embarrassing moments for them. Fortunately for you and your kids, a holiday onboard Royal Caribbean is full of great opportunities for your teenagers, from our entertaining Teen Club to an amazing range of thrilling activities, both onboard and off – just ask our Royal teens Josie, Sam and Charlie! So, for a fun and amazing family holiday that even the fussiest of teenagers will love, take a look our fantastic activities and remarkable destinations to find the right itinerary for you.

Keep your kids involved with your holiday planning

It’s their holiday as much as it is yours, and the way to a fun-filled, stress-free trip is to include your teens’ ideas when planning your trip. From choosing the destination and what activities you will do there, to deciding which restaurants you’ll eat at and picking the entertainment you each can’t wait to see.
All of our destinations offer a range of activities your teens will love; for example, if you’re going on a Caribbean holiday to the beautiful resort of Labadee with your teens, you’ll get to zip-line over the sea, take part in snorkel safaris and have a splash around at the Aqua Park. But, if you just want to relax and unwind while your kids explore, be sure to enjoy some you-time by sunbathing on the golden beach.

Tips for setting out holiday rules

Of course, if your teens are older, between the ages of 15 and 17, they’ll want to get away and do their own thing; so, it’s always a good idea to set out some ground rules before you all wave goodbye at the start of the day.
But, no one appreciates being set rules when they’re on holiday, especially teenagers! So, it’s important to keep them easy going and lenient, that way, your kids can stay entertained as well as safe. To make it easier, your kids can attend the Teen Club, while you relax and enjoy your holiday safe in the knowledge that they will be having the time of their lives!
On top of all this, make sure your kids don’t run out of money half way through the holiday; you can do this by setting them daily cash limits, which is also a good exercise in budgeting!

Teen Club

The Teen Club is perfect for teenagers of all ages; whether they’re 13 or 17, they’re sure to find a part of the club they love. From singing their hearts out at the karaoke, to dancing at the teen nightclub and learning how to DJ and scratch decks, your teens will have an amazing time away from their ‘embarrassing’ parents.
If your kids just want to relax with their new friends, then the living area of the Teen Club is ideal. As well as enjoying grown-up coffee nights, your kids can choose from a range of indoor activities, such as playing video games, listening to music and watching films.

Top activities
We pride ourselves on the amount of fun you can all have onboard; from racing up the climbing wall to ice skating, your family won’t get the chance to be bored!
If you and your kids are a bunch of adrenaline junkies, then why not give surfing a go on our onboard FlowRider, or test your nerves on the zip-line by flying from one end of the cruise ship to the next. Alternatively, if you’d each rather take part in something a little different, why not enjoy a family game of mini-golf, or some relaxing treatments in the onboard Spa.

Are you and your teens ready to have your best holiday yet?

If you and your kids are fed up of the usual holiday quarrels and disagreements, and are in need of a trip away that everyone will enjoy, then be sure to check out our destinations, and plan your cruise holiday today.
