How to Cruise for Kids

By AdeleFriday 23rd December 2016

We like to make sure that our ships are perfectly kitted out for our little Royal Adventurers. From eating unlimited ice-cream to splashing about in the pool, boredom is practically impossible when you’re onboard with us! Feed wallabies and kangaroos in Australia, take a camel ride in Lanzarote, or learn to make pizza in Naples – whatever you fancy. Our ships travel to over 250 different places, so the possibilities are endless!

Royal Adventurers

It’s true! We’ve now launched the UK’s first ever kid’s cruise holiday brochure. Specifically designed to inspire children and tell them all about how fun cruise holidays can be, they can also engage with extra fun features and games! We want you to know just how extraordinary a Royal Caribbean holiday can be, as those particular moments are incredibly important to us and our guests! Shore Excursions for Families

Fancy yourself an animal expert? Our excursions will give you a chance to feed little joeys as well as cuddle koalas in Australia, swim alongside dolphins in Grand Cayman or head out whale-watching on a glass-bottomed boat in the Canary Islands. You can spend time spotting turtles on the beach in Thailand and ride horseback in Iceland, safe in the knowledge that we really love wildlife here at Royal Caribbean, and have partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature in order to make sure they stay safe in future! Do your little ones prefer adrenaline to animal antics? Then toboggan downhill in Portugal, learn how to be a Gladiator, or test your photography skills on a photo rally in Bilbao. Whatever it is you choose to get up to, we’re sure your children’s show and tell will WOW their class when they get back to school. Make sure you take a look at our wide range of shore excursions before you set sail – you don’t want to miss out! image 2

Extraordinary Onboard Entertainment

Join your favourite film characters when you visit our onboard cinemas! You and your family will get the chance to meet characters from Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon! Excited yet? We show films both inside and outside, so whatever the weather, you can catch up with your favourite on-screen stories. If you prefer to see characters on-stage, then why not visit our theatre? Get VIP access, feel like you’re a celebrity and meet the cast of our shows backstage! Visit the AquaTheatre for Broadway shows, synchronised swimming, trampolining, and cool lightshows, or watch magical professional ice-skaters perform at the onboard ice rink – we told you you’ll never be bored! 1

Extraordinary Onboard Food

We weren’t joking when we mentioned unlimited ice-cream. Eat ice-cream cones to your heart’s content - the perfect way to cool down when on a summer holiday. Your tummies are never likely to be rumbling when you’re at sea with us; there’s mouth-watering pizza at Sorrento’s, scrumptious hot dogs at ‘The Dog House’, and lip-smacking burgers at our traditional American diner, ‘Johnny Rockets’. We know food’s important to you, so have a look at your options before you set sail so you can get your orders in fast!

Extraordinary Onboard Activities

Whether it’s rock-climbing or soaring above the top deck on a zip-line, we have everything you can think of when it comes to activities onboard. You can practise your pro-surfer moves on our surf simulator, ‘Flowrider’, become the next Tiger Woods on our mini golf course, or head to our Seaplex to race around on dodgem cars and play in our video game arcade. …That’s not all! Take a dip in the swimming pool in our H20 Zone, or strap on your skates and do a twirl with some onboard ice-skating! There’ll be no chance to twiddle your thumbs when you’re on holiday with us! Each of our ships has different onboard features and activities so be sure to check before you book. Your little ones will never worry about having to make friends whilst onboard with us! We have plenty of clubs for them to get involved in. From Pirate Party Parades, to science experiments, to shooting hoops on the sports court, to the ‘Adventure Ocean’ kids’ club. There will be plenty of opportunities to socialise – so there’s no need for them to be shy!

Sail on Independence of the Seas next summer

How do you fancy you and your family sailing around the Mediterranean and the Canaries? Independence of the Seas, one of the UK’s favourite family ships, is returning to Southampton for 2017! Here are some of the fun things you can do onboard: • Test your ice skating skills on the ship’s very own ice-skating rink
• Learn how to surf on the onboard surf simulator, Flowrider
• Shoot some hoops or score a penalty on the sports court
• Sing along to the family favourite musical, Grease
• Eat unlimited Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and have a cow on your balcony if you’re lucky enough to stay in your very    own ‘sweet’ room!
• Climb the rock climbing wall whilst having a great view of the sea
• Make some friends in the ship’s very own kids club, Adventure Ocean
• Take your putting to the next level on the ship’s mini golf course

Psst! Look out for our ship mascots Gigi the Giraffe on Anthem of the Seas, Felicia the pink bear onboard Quantum of the Seas and the newest addition to the team – Mama (Zan Ma) and Baby (Li Bao) panda who most recently arrived onboard Ovation of the Seas.

With all this excitement waiting onboard for you all, make sure to have a look at our family cruise holidays, just so you don’t miss out!
