Cruise and Stay: What Does It All Mean?

By BijalTuesday 21st January 2014

Cruise and Stay

After an exciting and fun-filled cruise it’s always nice to take some time out and relax at your destination of choice. So wouldn’t it be great if you could stay a little bit longer, to soak up the sun and enjoy the sights? We think so, and that’s why you have the option of a Cruise and Stay holiday. Read on to find out what a Cruise and Stay is all about, with a little help from us at Royal Caribbean.

So, what is a Cruise and Stay?

With a Cruise and Stay holiday you get to enjoy some time at sea and some time onshore, with the option of exploring a destination before or after your cruise – it’s entirely up to you. During your cruise you can plan what to do during your time onshore, from snorkelling amongst exotic fish in the sea off St Maarten to taking on the adrenaline-filled theme parks in Florida.

What to do during your stay

You have so many fascinating destinations to choose when planning this half of your Cruise and Stay holiday. If you choose a Caribbean itinerary then you can look forward to a number of exciting options. Maybe you’d like to relax after your action-packed cruise in a hotel which over-looks the great beaches of St Kitts and Barbados. Or, if your kids want to meet their Disney heroes then maybe a stay in Orlando, Florida will be on the cards.
Want to sail from the UK? No problem, cruises from the UK sail to great locations such as Barcelona, Monte Carlo and St. Petersburg. At these popular cities you can choose between sunbathing on beaches, shopping in the city and sightseeing, and with a longer stay you’ll get more time to spend doing what you and your family love most.
If you fancy travelling a little further afield then take a journey across the globe to Australia and New Zealand. In Australia you and the kids can cook up some barbequed treats on the beach, admire the wonderful wildlife and maybe even visit a local winery with the extra time you’ll have onshore. If you’d prefer to stay in New Zealand then you’ll have the country’s picturesque scenery to wander through, and if you’re feeling adventurous you can walk along the impressive Auckland Bridge – perfect for those of you who are adrenaline junkies.
