7 Ways to Show Your Mum You Care This Mother’s Day

By AdeleWednesday 11th March 2015

It’s Mother’s Day on the 15th March, and in honour of our number one ladies, we’ve put together a list of some of the best ways you can spoil your mum with us on this special day. Whether it’s exploring new cities, indulging in a spa treatment, or watching a show together, there are plenty of ways you can show your mum you care this year. So, get inspired, take your pick from the list below, and start planning how you’re going to pamper your mum.

Treat your mum to a holiday of culture in Rome

If you’re sailing from Southampton, you have the option of a number of amazing destinations to visit for a Mother’s Day break. If your mum loves the hustle and bustle of the city, then a trip to Rome will be right up her street. Spend the day exploring the incredible historical sites, such as the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Pantheon, and round it off on an indulgent note, with a large plate of fresh pasta and maybe a scoop or two of gelato.

Enjoy a break together in the sun

Another short sail from Southampton are the beautiful, subtropical Canary Islands, which means you and mum can be soaking up the sun in no time. If you both enjoy the more adventurous side of life, take a hike through Gran Canaria’s beautiful landscape. Alternatively, just as much fun can be had chilling out on the beach with a good book, and taking a refreshing dip in the sea.

Spoil her with an onboard spa day

After a busy couple of days exploring the sights and sounds of your chosen destination, a day at the spa is the perfect opportunity to recharge. If your mum feels that her skin is in need of a pick-me-up, spoil her to the Elemis Pro-Collagen Facial. This treatment is great for slowing down signs of premature ageing, and helping to keep skin glowing and looking youthful. For tired, aching muscles, book in for an Elemis Deep Tissue Massage, where one of our trained masseuses will use warmed oils to eradicate any tensions, lactic acid build up and stress.

Indulge with a little afternoon tea

A classic Mother’s Day treat is to indulge in a spot of afternoon tea. A great little café to try out whilst onboard one of our Quantum ships is La Patisserie, a Parisian style café that’s the perfect place for catching up with your mum. Share a pot of tea with your mum as you decide which of the pastries and cakes you’re going to sample first. And if you’re more of a coffee lover, the freshly brewed house blend is sure to hit the spot.

Spend some time doing what she loves

Whether your mum is up bright and early every Saturday morning for a game of tennis, or is more into dancing the night away at the local salsa club, make sure you spend some time together doing what she loves. From swimming a couple of laps in the Solarium’s pool, to sitting back and watching a good film in the cinema, you’ll both be spoilt for choice on how to spend the time together.

    Make a voucher book

When it comes to showing your mum you really care, offering to help her out from time to time is often one of the best ways. To make it easier for your mum to ask for an extra hand, create a little voucher book that includes a list of all the jobs your mum doesn’t really enjoy. From washing up after dinner, to cleaning the bathrooms, your hand-made voucher booklet will ensure your mum gets a well-deserved rest.

End your Mother’s Day with dinner and a show

To really celebrate your mum and everything she does for you, end this Mother’s Day on a high note at one of the spectacular shows at one of our top venues. For a Broadway classic, head over to our Royal Theatre, where performances of Mamma Mia, Chicago and We Will Rock You will entertain you throughout the night. For something a little different, make your way over to our brand new Two70 venue, where you can sit back and marvel at the technologically advanced Roboshow, stare in amazement at the impressive Starwater or get your groove on at the virtual concert.

Mother’s Day 2015

Don’t worry if you’ve not booked your mum a dream break yet, there’s still plenty of time to pick up a great deal this Spring.

How are you spoiling your mum this Mother’s Day?
