Top 5 Shows in 2014

By DavidTuesday 24th December 2013

Do you love the razzle dazzle of the West End, with its glamorous outfits and big ballads that fill the stage? We love going to the theatre to relax with a drink, some delicious food and of course, to watch our favourite shows. Royal Caribbean hosts many musicals and performances across their ships, and the recent announcement of Anthem of the Seas means there will be even more variety in the upcoming months and years. With that in mind, here’s our list of top 5 shows to look forward to in 2014.

Mamma Mia

Based on the chart topping songs of Abba, Mamma Mia tells the story of a young woman called Sophie who desperately wants to know who her father is before her wedding. This Broadway tale of love, friendship and family is showcased at the state of the art Two70° venue onboard Quantum of the Seas, where you’ll get to marvel at the panoramic views too.

Set in the 1920s, Chicago tells the dramatic story of Roxie Hart. After murdering her lover in a jealous rage, Roxie is sent to Prison where she meets another fame hungry murderess called Velma, and the two fight each other for their chance in the limelight. Lights, jazz music and sleek dancing bring this show to life onboard Allure of the Seas, where you can enjoy an electrifying atmosphere and captivating performance.

Aqua Theatre

Exclusive to Oasis and Allure of the Seas, the Aqua Theatre hosts a number of impressive shows, all performed in the deepest salt water pool at sea – pretty impressive! From the comfort of your seat you’ll get to enjoy synchronised swimming performances, underwater acrobatics and performers diving from 10 meters above you.

Ice Games

The throw of a dice brings this game of Monopoly to life, on ice! Your family will get to witness the performers make their way around this real-life Monopoly board; making stops, cashing in and even getting thrown into jail! Watch the game and story unfold, and get your kids to play along from the edge of the ice rink.

Our onboard DreamWorks experience gives your kids the chance to meet their favourite characters from the films they love. As part of our onboard DreamWorks experience, we’re presenting two DreamWorks shows for your kids to enjoy. Join Hiccup and Toothless the dragon as their story of How to Train Your Dragon is performed on ice by our expert skaters. Or, take your kids along to watch the fun and wild aqua performance of Madagascar, where Marty and the rest of the gang will be hanging out with divers, acrobats and swimmers – phew!

Come and join the fun!

We’re really excited about all of the upcoming performances across our ships and can’t wait for you to join us. Click here for more information on Royal Caribbean’s dazzling shows of 2014.
