How to Spend a Day Onboard Quantum of the Seas

By BijalFriday 21st November 2014

ripcord

A few friends and I recently spent two nights onboard Quantum of the Seas during its visit to Southampton, so now I feel more than equipped to help you plan the best day on this incredible smart ship. From waking up in your beautifully designed room to going to bed, this guide will you help you to make the most of your time during your holiday.

Wake up

Whichever room you choose to wake up in, you’re bound to enjoy a stunning morning view. From taking in the ocean vista and fresh air from your balcony, to opening your curtains to reveal the captivating scenery on our newly instated virtual balconies, waking up in the mornings will have never felt so good.

Breakfast

Feeling hungry? There are plenty of great places to grab some breakfast first thing. If you and your kids are not sure what you fancy, make your way to Windjammer, where you’ll have the choice of so many delicious foods, from French pastries to full-English - you’ll be spoilt for choice! If you want to try something different, then be sure to check out the other great cafes and restaurants. Go to Café @ Two70 for toasties and a range of yummy snacks, or the spa cafeif you’re up for something healthy and light – I recommend the fruit smoothies.

Mid-morning fun

Quantum of the Seas includes a lot of firsts, such as the Ripcord by i-Fly sky diving simulator, which is an exciting way to blow away the cobwebs in the morning. Instructors will guide you, so that you can fly up into the air independently, taking in the amazing views of the ocean. Right next to the Ripcord is FlowRider, our onboard surfing simulator which is now available across all of our latest ships. The sea breeze, warm sun and strong, rushing waves will make boogie boarding and surfing feel almost real. Ripcord onboard Quantum of the Seas

Or, relax

spa If you’d prefer to unwind, then pay a visit to our adult-only Solarium and spa, where you can take your pick from a range of luxury treatments from top brands, such as Elemis. Either before or after your visit to the spa, be sure to explore the onboard gym, which is home to a range of impressive equipment. Our favourite are the treadmills, which you can use for social media, music, and even a TV that provides virtual running paths through famous streets and beautiful parks!

Stop for lunch

After a busy morning, you’ll probably be in need of a scrumptious pit-stop. Make your way over to Johnny Rockets for a cheeseburger and fries, or Michael’s Genuine Pub for some great-tasting pub grub.

Head to the SeaPlex

Sea Plex As you walk into Seaplex, you could be forgiven for thinking that the main court is like any other; however, you’d be wrong. The centre of SeaPlex has been designed in such a way as to make room for many different activities, from the fold-away basketball ball hoops that can be used by any child of any age or height, to the secret trapeze that is tucked away in the ceiling, and only brought out for circus fun. On top of all this, you can strap on your skates for some roller skating fun, as well as take on each other for an exhilarating game of bumper cars!

Enjoy Dynamic Dining

Dynamic Dining gives you the chance to dine at all of our restaurants, from the whimsical food and smoky dry ice of Wonderland, to the steamed pork tacos and authentic cocktails of Silk, all taste buds will be satisfied onboard Quantum of the Seas. The smart part of Dynamic Dining, is that each of our waiters can track your dietary requirements using their iPads, making dining out that little bit easier! But, if you fall for a specific restaurant and can’t wait to chat away with your favourite waiter again, then you can choose to book with the same restaurant as many times as you like!

Evening entertainment

Fancy a drink with a difference? Head over to our brand-new Bionic Bar by Makr Shakr, where two robotic arms will stir, shake and strain a cocktail of your choice – all that, in less than one minute! bionic bar Once you’ve got your drink, make your way over to Two70, where you’ll be blown away by a variety of performances that include the robotic screens, which are programmed to interact with the performers and music. For the movers and shakers, be sure to head over to the freshly designed Music Hall, where tribute bands and discos will get everybody up on to the dance floor, ready to party the night away.
