Meet the Cruisers: Patricia Dempsey

By JoFriday 23rd August 2013

Copenhagen Copenhagen - Jewel of the Seas

Cruising fan Patricia Dempsey takes us through her favourite destinations that she's visited with Royal Caribbean, and her tips for new cruisers.

Where did you sail to on your first ever Royal Cruise, and on which of our ships? Cobh [Ireland] on Navigator of the Seas. Of all the ports of call you have cruised to, which has been your favourite so far and why? My favourite with Royal has got to be Fiordland in New Zealand. What’s your favourite thing about Royal Caribbean Cruises? (you can only choose one!) You don't shut out solo travellers, because all activities are for everyone. What’s your dream cruise destination? Alaska. What advice would you give about cruising to someone who is about to set sail for the first time? Sit back and enjoy it. Tell us about your most memorable WOW moment on a Royal cruise? Fiordland in New Zealand on Radiance of the Seas. Although the weather was rough, the scenery was just amazing and worth getting up early and soaked for. The helipad edging closer and closer to Stirling falls in Milford Sound was exciting even though I watched from the deck 12.Stirling Falls Do you have a favourite Royal ship? If so, which one and why? Vision. The ship is just perfect for me ever since my first cruise on her to the Mexican Riviera in 2008. She's bright, spacious, such great crew and atmosphere. If you could only pack three items for your cruise, what would they be and why? Camera for photos, umbrella and sunscreen for all weathers. If you could take one aspect of a Royal Caribbean cruise home with you, what would it be? The atmosphere. Lots of people who have never cruised before may be unsure about this type of holiday, what would you like to tell them about why you love cruising? It's a fabulous way to visit many places and meet new people.
