First Time Cruise Tips – Part II

By AdeleTuesday 25th June 2013

Welcome Aboard Royal Caribbean Cruises

Last month, we brought you some first time cruise tips from our clued-up guests on everything from what to pack to how to best plan your time on board. In part II, we’re giving you first time cruise tips for keeping in contact with your travel companions, what to expect when dining onboard and other useful snippets of advice for your first cruise. This is all thanks to our dedicated cruise guests who have plenty of experience to share with you.

Keeping in Contact

'Take walkie talkies with you so you can keep in contact with your kids while they’re off having fun.' - Justine Griffiths
'The ships are bigger than most villages so it’s good to plan ahead and make arrangements to meet others onboard. You'll make many friends, enjoy all the activities and excursions and you will never, ever, ever want to go on any other sort of holiday.' - Ann Robinson

Food & Dining

Guests enjoyed bite-sized desserts'Go on a diet beforehand as you will eat, drink and be merry on board!' Colin Ferguson
'The Windjammer buffet is wonderful. Order a frozen mojito - wish we'd another cruise booked.' Helen Devlin
'The formal nights don't have to be formal. The women in our party took dresses and men took trousers, shirts and ties. Turned out we ate in the Windjammer and we dressed casually every night, which was bliss.' Annie McDade Ritchie
'Always share a table. If you don’t like your table mates you can move but you do meet a lot of nice people.' Jan Evans

And the rest...

'Relax, enjoy yourself, and be spoiled.' Sarah Groves
'You can pre-check in online.' Emma Gordon
'There’s no need to pay the gratuities up front, you can pay as you go.' Fidelma Freeman
'Try not to miss the ice show, it’s out of this world and the parades at night in the Mall are great fun.' Maureen Wood
