Christmas Ideas to Feel Festive Onboard

By HannahFriday 20th December 2013

Do you get excited by the sound of jingle bells, the fresh smell of Christmas trees and the delicious taste of minced pies? We love the snow that Christmas brings and the woolly scarves and hats we have to wear, but sometimes it’s nice to have a break from the cold winters of the UK. Joining us on a Christmas cruise may mean celebrating in the sun and not the snow, and building sandcastles instead of snowmen, but that doesn’t mean you miss out on the festivities! Here’s Royal Caribbean’s guide to keeping festive on your Christmas cruise in the sun.

Get into the festive mood

Royal Caribbean loves celebrating Christmas, and you and your family won’t miss out on any festivities during your cruise. Leading up to Christmas day your kids will have so many activities to choose from. They’ll get to spend a day doing arts and crafts and decorating delicious festive biscuits, followed by an afternoon of watching Christmas films. If that’s not enough, you and your kids can glide around the ice skating rink, watch the entertaining holiday show and enjoy the Santa and elves parade. Sounds pretty fun to us! On Christmas day you’ll be just as spoilt for choice; sing along to Christmas carols with us, take part in a traditional religious service and enjoy a delicious festive meal in our restaurant after opening all of your presents.

Turkey and all the trimmings

We think that one of the best bits about Christmas is the dinner; delicious turkey, roasted potatoes, and Yorkshire puddings - the list could go on! Royal Caribbean hosts a traditional Christmas dinner onboard, serving you succulent turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and many other tasty treats. After dinner you can pop open some champagne, pull on some festive crackers and indulge in yummy Christmas pudding.

Decorate your room!

The rest of the cruise ship will be decked in glittering decorations, gingerbread houses and helpful elves, so it only makes sense that your room is just as Christmassy too. Putting a miniature tree up in your room, hanging tinsel on the walls and lighting up your room with twinkling fairy lights will add that extra bit of Christmas to your cruise experience. The decorations will make Christmas morning perfect as your kids wake up to all of their presents.

Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas!
