Royal Random Acts of Kindness

By AdeleWednesday 22nd February 2017

Did you make a loved one a cup of tea this morning? Perhaps you let somebody in front of you in the queue whilst you were picking up your groceries, or helped someone carry their heavy bags up a flight of stairs. Here at Royal Caribbean, we’re all about random acts of kindness, and luckily, there’s a national day dedicated to this lovely cause. We thought we’d celebrate by giving back to you, our Royal Caribbean guests. Read on and you could win an extraordinary prize!

Royal Random Act of Kindness #1

When we asked you what kind things people had done for you over the Christmas break that made you smile, we received a number of charming responses.
Sam Berry shared this wonderful photo of her son, Oliver, and her two lovely furry friends:
Donna Stephenson wanted to thank her sister for helping her knock things from her bucket list:
Just lovely, right? Though every response that we received brightened our day, the comment that made us smile the most was from Laura France. She posted a photograph on Facebook of her daughter, Maizie, which was printed using her new Instax printer Christmas gift!
We liked the photo so much, we thought we’d show a random act of kindness of our own, gifting Laura a family day out to Go Ape’s Tree Top Adventure. This meant that she and the family could make some extraordinary moments to remember (and capture them with her new camera!).

Royal Random Act of Kindness #2

Next up, we thought we’d throw a Random Act of Kindness into the Twittersphere! We asked our Royal Caribbean followers where the below photo was taken. Camels, a blue sky and long, stretching desert… do you have any idea? If you’re no good with coordinates, then perhaps the camels will give you a clue. The answer isn’t so dubious…
Julia Levy was crowned the lucky winner with her correct answer: Dubai! Perhaps her trip to the city onboard Vision of the Seas helped her out a bit, with camel rides across rolling sand dunes as well as an atmospheric evening sleeping under the stars in a Bedouin tent! We thought that we’d treat Julia to a pampering day after her once-in-a-lifetime trip, just to help her get over her those horrible holiday blues that we all know so well!

Royal Random Act of Kindness #3

When we asked our followers to post their favourite family moments with us on Facebook, we were happy to hear from John Garrett, from Northern Ireland. He got in contact with a wholesome photo of him spending quality time with his daughter! We pride ourselves on creating those special family moments, so we thought that we’d treat him to a dining experience for two at a location of his choice. Find the photo that he submitted to us below.
“My gift voucher arrived today. Thank you very much! To celebrate, I just booked a cruise! I’m going solo on the Navigator of the Seas from Southampton in April. I’m really looking forward to my first transatlantic (and my only third ever) cruise!”

Royal Random Act of Kindness #4

When asked to share your snaps of your extraordinary holiday moments on Twitter, we received a number of amazing responses from people all around the globe. We simply had to reward Diana, who had her second cruise onboard Navigator of the Seas, for this stunning snap:
What better way is there to reward a brilliant photographer than supplying them with a Fujifilm polaroid camera?! That’s what we sent over to Diana, in order to inspire her to keep that shutterbug habit healthy. She was very happy with her spontaneous gift:
So, it seems that you’ve caught us in a giving mood! Keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages, as we may have a few more surprises in store. For now, we thought we’d bring our random acts of kindness here, to the Official Royal Caribbean blog. We want to hear what kind of things you’ve been doing for people in 2017. It could be helping a loved one, giving a helping hand on holiday, or making a stranger in the street smile!

Simply tell us your random act of kindness in the comments below! Photos and videos are more than welcome. Sharing is caring, after all…
