Meet our Lovely Mummy Bloggers

By JoFriday 04th July 2014

Laura Driver Royal Caribbean

You might remember that back in April and May 2013 we were lucky enough to receive two insightful guest posts from blogging mums Liz and Erica. They, and three other successful bloggers, were invited along on a solo Caribbean cruise holiday, as well as a day out on Independence of the Seas with their families.

One year on, we’ve invited these six lucky bloggers and their families to join Royal Caribbean for a Caribbean holiday onboard Oasis of the Seas or Allure of the Seas.  Once onboard they’ll be writing blog posts for their own blogs, and our blog. Now let’s introduce you to our wonderful mummy bloggers and their families, before they set off on the holiday of a lifetime!

Becky Wiggins

Becky is mum to Sam, 18, and Charlie, 15, and loves a cruise holiday, which she often writes about on her blog, English Mum. Through her blog, Becky also offers families with older kids fantastic tips on how to keep teenagers entertained on holiday. Becky’s two sons will also be contributing to our blog, letting us know all about what they got up to during their holiday, so watch this space! Becky explains that the role of planning a holiday has evolved as her kids have matured, she says, “when they were little, our holidays were mostly beach focused, but as the boys have got older, they are happy to do a bit of sightseeing and exploring.” Sounds like Becky’s holidays are about to get a little more exciting!

Liz Jarvis

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Liz has been writing about her parenting journey since 2009, and launched The Mum Blog in 2011; a place in which she shares her interests, her latest travels, and her experiences as a mum. From film reviews, to beauty tips, Liz has got it covered. Liz has also written guest blog posts for the Royal blog; here's what she had to say last time! When it comes to family holidays, history and culture is high on Liz's agenda. Liz's son loves history, and their favourite holiday memory, so far, is from the time they both enjoyed a cruise to St. Petersburg in Russia: "It was unlike anywhere we'd been before, and there was so much history and culture to discover." Sounds amazing to us, Liz!

Erica Douglas

Erica is mum to Erin and wife to Alex; she’s also a big cruise fan and was one of the five lucky bloggers in 2013 to join us on a Caribbean cruise. As well guest blogging for Royal’s On the Water blog, she also discusses travel, parenting and many other fascinating topics on her personal blog, Little Mummy. When asked how she keeps Erin entertained while travelling, Erica had a sure fire way to keep tantrums at bay: “I’ve always put the onus on Erin to amuse herself […] I think you set yourself up for a nightmare journey if your children expect you to entertain them the whole time.”

Tara Cain

Tara Cain Tara and her husband have a 12-year-old son, Dan, and a 9-year-old daughter, Mia– not forgetting their pet dog! Tara loves to write on her own blog, Sticky Fingers, about the fun her and her family get up to, including their exciting summer holidays; just take a look for yourself! Tara’s family love a little adventure, and when asked what the family’s favourite thing to do onboard her last cruise was, the FlowRider came at the top of her and her family’s list. We couldn’t agree more, Tara.

Karin Joyce

Karin Joyce Karin is proud mum of Ella, 7, and Sam, 3, and wife of Mark, and has been an active member of the parent blogging community since 2009. Karin writes all about her family’s activities on her blog, Café Bebe, from tips for holidays with kids to delicious gluten-free recipes, yum! After her last cruising experience, Karin couldn’t help but fall in love with the Caribbean, explaining that “Labadee, Haiti, captured my heart”, and that Jamaica “gave us the excursion of a lifetime with the Dunns River Falls Climb.”

Laura Driver

Laura Driver's kids Laura is a mum of two, Lily, 9, and Charlie, 8, and has been married for 14 years. On her blog, Are we Nearly There Yet Mummy, she chronicles her journey through motherhood, offering tips on all sorts, from how to travel with kids, to day-to-day essential know-hows. When asked how she makes time for herself on a Royal Caribbean holiday, Laura explained that on their last cruise Lily and Charlie couldn’t wait to have fun at the kids club, leaving her and her husband enough time to “dine in a lovely restaurant, catch a show and discover a bar that did the most amazing frozen mojitos.” Cheers, Laura!
