Make the Most of International Friendship Day

By JoTuesday 28th July 2015

The special play zone has been designed specifically for Royal Babies and Royal Tots. The special play zone has been designed specifically for Royal Babies and Royal Tots.

International Friendship Day is an annual celebration of friendship and all the wonderful ways it connects countries, cultures and individuals. From the best friends who met in primary school, to unions between governments around the world; there’s no doubt that friendship is a huge part of everyone’s lives.

Kids love meeting new people and making new friends, and what better way to make new friends and celebrate International Friendship Day than onboard a Royal Caribbean ship? Our award-winning Adventure Ocean® kid’s clubs are open to children of all ages and offer lots of fun-tastic activities, whilst giving you the chance to take a break. Here’s how you can keep the kids busy and social this Friendship Day.

Royal Babies and Tots

For the youngest cruisers onboard Royal Caribbean, we’ve created the Royal Babies (six to 18 months) and the Royal Tots (18-36 months) clubs. We’ve designed this special environment to make it a safe and fun place for your little ones to learn, discover and develop new skills. Early childhood experts from Fisher-Price have developed interactive group sessions, which include toys, music and games. Help your baby learn through play and watch as they make some of their very first friends, or leave your cherubs in the capable hands of our trained nursery staff and enjoy a few hours to yourself.*

Playful three to five-year-olds are in for the time of their lives at our Aquanaut club, where they’ll be able to explore and play to their heart’s content. They can discover the secrets of Jurassic Jr., become a miniature pirate for the Pirate Party Parade and make a whole lot of new best friends. Your little Aquanaut will have such an amazing time that they won’t ever want the day to end!

Six to eight-year-olds can put their explorer’s hat on and get ready to discover the many wonderful and weird delights of the world. Hands-on science and Adventure Theatre – just two of the activities available – are not only tons of fun, but they’re also a fantastic learning opportunity for the kids. The day will end with a little bit of dancing and ice cream all round!

Kids between the ages of nine and 11 can make lifelong friends at the fun-filled Voyagers club. Our experienced club leaders organise a variety of exciting activities, like backstage tours, sports and science experiments. The kids always have the best time, and whilst they’re enjoying themselves, you can get some much-needed rest and relaxation.
Teenage kids can do their own thing at the Teen Lounge. Teenage kids can do their own thing at the Teen Lounge.

Some say that the teenage years can be tricky, but when you cruise with Royal Caribbean they don’t have to be. We’re got special activities for 12 to 14 year olds and 15 to 17 year olds, as well as teen-only hangouts at the Teen Lounge. 12 to 14 year olds can try their hand at rock climbing, have a game of dodgeball, and then finish the night off with a movie or BBQ. They can also take part in open mic nights and talent shows, all while making new friends. Older teens can splash around at pool parties, sing their hearts out at karaoke and take part in lots of other great activities – they’ll love it.

Feeling friendly?

Making friends is easy when you cruise with Royal Caribbean, so take a look at our cruise destinations and start planning your holiday today.
