Magnificent March

By JoFriday 18th March 2016

Plan your next holiday for March 2017! Plan your next holiday for March 2017!

June, July and August are popular times to take a holiday, but what if we told you there’s another month which is perfect for a getaway? “What?” you’d say, as you exclaim that “a summer holiday is the only holiday for me!”. Well, Royal Caribbean is here to tell you that summer holidays need to make space for Magnificent March, the up-and-coming holiday month. If you’ve never taken a holiday in March, here are just a few of the reasons why 2017 is the year you should start.

Winter weather

Although winter (technically) comes to an end on the 20th of March, the weather never seems to take note. You’ll be feeling the chill all through the month and, if past years are anything to go by, well into April. Escape the chilly mornings, and even chillier nights, with a March cruise to any of the delightfully warm destinations on offer. Say goodbye to woolly hats and thick jumpers, and jump into your favourite beachwear.

Summer crowds

As we’ve already mentioned, lots of people take their holiday in summer, and for most destinations, it’s their busiest time of year. If you want to holiday away from the hustle and bustle of summer crowds, March is the month for you. You’ll find that there are fewer people, especially kids, so you can enjoy your own space without feeling overwhelmed by the crowds, while still having the option to make new friends.

Great destinations

When planning your magnificent March getaway, you won’t be short of amazing destinations to choose from, trust us! Bask in the Bahamas, chill in the Caribbean, or perhaps you’d prefer the Arabian Gulf? If you’d like to go even further afield, you can spend seven nights cruising the reef in Queensland, Australia. Whether you want a 3-night getaway, a 7-night break or a 10-night escape, we’ve got the cruise for you.

The Easter break

The end of March can only mean one thing: Easter. The kids get a couple of days away from school and you get a few days off work, which means a break from treacherous school runs, office workloads and after-school activities. Grasp this opportunity with two hands and use the time to take a short, family holiday. Pack your bags, set sail for an exciting destination and start making memories that will last a lifetime. You won’t regret it!

Mid-range temps

If you go somewhere hot during summer, the chances are it will be really hot, but if you go in March you’ll get mid-range temperatures. In Queensland, Australia, for example, travelling in March means you avoid the scorching December temperatures, which can hit highs of 40°C, and enjoy more comfortable temperatures of between 25°C and 35°C. The same is true for the Caribbean, where temperatures are cooler in March before peaking in August.
THIS is how your March should look. THIS is how your March should look.
