Wild about Wildlife: World Animal Day

By HarryFriday 04th October 2013

Watching the latest wildlife documentary never fails to amaze us - animals are strange and wonderful. But watching a TV programme will never match the experience of seeing animals in the wild. What’s more, today is World Animal Day, when people around the world take time to celebrate the animal kingdom and highlight the plight of endangered species. The 4th October was the chosen date because it’s the feast day of Francis of Assisi (a patron saint of animals), but it’s become such a hit that it’s now celebrated by animal-lovers of all beliefs and nationalities. From Indonesian elephants to tropical sea creatures, we’re so lucky to have the opportunity to see these animals in their natural environment! There are plenty of wildlife destinations and excursions to choose from with a Royal Caribbean cruise holiday. You’ll get to see animals up close and then sleep soundly at night in the comfort of your room. So pack up your binoculars and camera and let’s go wild!
