Top Sunset Spots Around the World

By HarryTuesday 03rd March 2015

Holidays are a time for sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying your tranquil surroundings. We can’t think of a better way to do this than enjoying the vivid colours of a sunset. Royal Caribbean cruises take you to some of the world’s most beautiful sunset spots, whether they are mountainous national parks or wide sandy beaches. With us, you’re guaranteed a free pass to some of nature’s greatest displays, so check out some of our favourite spots to see stunning sunsets.

Smuggler’s Beach, St. Lucia

The Caribbean is famous for its gorgeous beaches and great sun, so we thought it had to feature in our top sunset spots. West of Barbados sits the pretty island of St. Lucia, and it’s here where you’ll find our first contender. The landscape here is dramatic – thick rainforest is dotted with golf and country clubs, and beaches are hidden away in scenic coves.
Smuggler’s Beach is one of these hidden gems, nestled in the north of the island within Smuggler’s Cove. To the left of the beach you can enjoy incredible views of Pigeon Island National Park, and this creates a beautiful stage for your sunset view, which is framed by the surrounding cove. Sit back, sip on cocktails from the Smuggler’s Beach resort and enjoy the show.

Kincaid Park, Anchorage, Alaska

A trip to Alaska will release your wild side, and there’s nothing more natural than sitting on the shores of this incredible country and enjoying its beautiful sunsets. Summer or winter, the area in and around Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, is worth a visit. Hiking through the Chugach Mountains in the surrounding area will guarantee you good views, but for the best sunset many head to Kincaid Park, which sits on the coast to the west.
Here you will find hiking trails for miles and miles, and the beach offers up some of the best panoramic views around. The sand is soft and whilst it may be too cold to take a dip in the ocean, the views make up for it. Perch on some of the rocks to the sides of the beach and wait for the sun to set.

Halong Bay, Vietnam

Asia is a place of incredible diversity, and there are countless fantastic sunset spots here to be uncovered. When travelling to Vietnam, the area of Halong Bay has become a must-see for many sunset lovers. Dozens upon dozens of islets are dotted along the horizon, as well as small fishing boats and floating villages.
These features give the sunsets here a certain magic that cannot be found elsewhere in the world. Whether you’ve got a view from higher up one of the many cliffs, are on a nearby beach with a loved one or are floating on one of the local villages, the sunsets here are dependably picturesque. If you’ve had a long hot day, why not take a swim at dusk and bask in the red glow of the Vietnamese sky.

Cable Beach, Broome, Western Australia

When you think of uninterrupted coastlines, vast clear skies and captivating wildlife, your mind might guide you to the shores of Australia. Magical sunsets can be found in so many parts of this vast country, but the west coast is famed for them. Many head to the Sunset Coast around Perth, which consists of pure white sandy beaches, from Cottesloe all the way to Lancelin. However we’ve gone further north, to the town of Broome, to find our perfect sunset.
Cable Beach can be found just outside of Broome, and at 22 kilometres long, the flat sands stretching out to sea provide the perfect spot to settle down and watch as the sky bursts with colour. Purples, oranges and reds reflect off of the clear Indian Ocean, and you can enjoy an uninterrupted view for miles.
