If you and the family are setting sail to the Canary Islands this summer with Royal Caribbean, you will find loads to do to keep everyone entertained. Not only is there all the excitement of discovering everything we have to offer onboard, there is also plenty to do on shore, as well! With so much to see and do, it can be difficult knowing where to start, so we have put together this quick look at the top five fun activities to enjoy with your kids in the Canary Islands!

Grab your bike and go, in Fuerteventura! Grab your bike and go, in Fuerteventura!

Mountain Biking, Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura, with its rocky landscape, is the ideal location for mountain biking. The island is covered with trails that will suit all abilities, from gentle inclines for younger kids, to challenging, steep mountainous paths for the more experienced biker. There are many advantages of being on two wheels in Fuerteventura, including the freedom to explore much more of the island, and taking in the scenery at your own pace, plus it’s a great way to get your kids active outdoors!

Sioux City, Gran Canaria

If your kids love nothing more than playing Cowboys and Indians, then a day out to Sioux City is guaranteed to go down a treat! The park is built around a film set, giving the impression of a real wild west town, where your kids can lose themselves in role-play, with can-can girls, bank robbers and gun-slinging stunt men adding to the atmosphere. You can also take a walk around Sioux City’s zoo, exhibiting animals native to America, including venomous rattlesnakes, adorable prairie dogs and a rare species of albino alligator. After a tiring, action-packed day, gather everyone around the barbecue to relax and enjoy a delicious, meaty feast together. Siam Park, Tenerife

In a hot climate, there is nothing quite like a dip in a pool to cool off, and when you add to that thrilling water slides and river rapids, you’ve got yourself a great day out with the whole family! Siam Park is one of Europe’s biggest water parks, with over 30 attractions that are sure to delight every member of the family. For the daring, test your mettle on the 28-metre, near-vertical drop of the Tower of Power, or if you’re looking for something a little more relaxing, grab a doughnut ring, and drift along Mai Thai River, the world’s longest lazy river ride. Go watch a show at the Dolphinarium, at Loro Parque Go watch a show at the Dolphinarium, at Loro Parque

Loro Parque, Tenerife

Nothing beats a day out at the zoo, no matter how old you are. Loro Parque is one of Tenerife’s most popular tourist attractions, and it’s not hard to see why. Here, you can see everything from big cats such as tigers and jaguars, to gorillas, flamingos and a whole menagerie of different species in between. The biggest attraction, however, has got to be the incredible shows down at Orca Ocean and the Dolphinarium, where you can marvel at the displays put on by these remarkable marine mammals.

Go Karting San Bartolomé, Lanzarote

For the family who likes life in the fast lane, a day out to the go karting track ought to be top of your list when visiting Lanzarote. Set on the hillside, looking over the city of Arrecife and down to the sea, this is a truly beautiful, and unique driving experience. So, take each other on and burn some rubber, racing around the track at Go Karting San Bartolomé, to find out whom the champion speed demon of your family is!

These are just a few of the amazing attractions waiting for you and your family on a cruise to the Canary Islands – let us know where you decide to spend a fun-packed day!
