It’s that time of the year again, school is out, the sun is shining and everyone is packing up their suitcases, ready to head off on their next family holiday. To help you plan your best summer holiday yet, we’ve handpicked three top places to match every family’s individual wants and needs. So, get your suitcase at the ready and become inspired by our top three summer holiday destinations.

Jamaica

Image and video hosting by TinyPic The home of ackee and saltfish, gorgeous beaches and rum, nothing compares to a summer spent on the Caribbean island of Jamaica. If you’re cruising with Royal, then you can look forward to docking at the coastal town of Falmouth, a picture perfect place to recharge and have fun. Once you arrive, be sure to make your way over to Jacob Taylor beach, a long stretch of powder white sand and turquoise water that is perfect for both relaxing in the sun and building sandcastles. Looking for something a little different? Make the short journey to the river Martha Brae and enjoy a slow raft ride throughout the forested jungle that hangs over the river’s edges. Afterwards, fill up on some yummy grilled seafood at Leon’s Lobster Hut – the lobster with a jacket potato is the perfect way to end a day at this tropical paradise. Sardinia

The beaches that frame this impeccable Italian island cannot be beaten, especially the Costa Smerelda, in northern Sardinia. Bright white sand and crystal clear water make up the Costa Smerelda beaches, making it a truly enchanting place to spend a morning with family and friends. And because the water is so clean and clear, it’s great for when you and the little ones fancy going snorkelling! Image and video hosting by TinyPic For some shade from the Mediterranean heat, head over to the Grotta di Ispinigoli, an amazing limestone cave that is located between Orosei and Dorgali. It’s right by the coast, so you can still take some time to enjoy the sea air and beaches. If you’re in need of some lunchtime treats, be sure to pay the restaurant at Ariturismo Candela a visit. It’s around a two-hour drive from the coast, but it’s worth it! Dig in to homemade ravioli, roasted suckling pig and mouth-watering Italian appetisers.

Florida

Image and video hosting by TinyPic When it comes to family holiday destinations, Florida rules the roost. Also, if you really love this state then you can plan to stay there before or after your cruise holiday. With plenty of exciting theme parks and places to see, as well as a huge amount of fun activities to do too, your kids are unlikely to ever get bored. If your kids love animals, then take them to see the impressive alligators at Gatorland, in Orlando, and watch as these majestic creatures crawl and dart across the grasslands. If your kids prefer cuter, cuddlier animals, then make the slightly longer journey to Miami, to visit the macaque monkeys at Monkey Jungle. These adorable animals are free to swing amongst the trees, so be prepared to get up close and personal with these cheeky monkeys! Explore the world of witchcraft and wizardry on the Harry Potter’s Forbidden Journey, or walk through Dr Seuss’ most famous story, The Cat in the Hat. If you and your kids are up for something a little scarier, then enjoy a fast and scary ride on the Incredible Hulk Coaster – it’s everything you could imagine, and more!
