Never-ending Summer with Royal Caribbean

It’s sad but it’s true, summer here in the UK is coming to a close. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to spell the end for you, too. We sail all over the world, so no matter what time of year it is, you’ll be sure to find some sunshine somewhere. So, if you’re longing for a little more time in the sun, then check out these fantastic destinations for a never-ending summer with Royal Caribbean.

Spain and the Canary Islands

Spain has a warm, Mediterranean climate all year, and remains mild throughout the winter, making it a great destination within easy reach of the UK, if you’re looking for a quick getaway from the chill. Cruising down to the Canaries will also take you to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, a diverse and cultural city with a relaxed, easy-going outlook on life. The Canary Islands are geographically closer to Africa than Europe, and therefore boast a pretty perfect climate the whole year round, with temperatures never dropping much lower than 20°C. Take the opportunity that the pristine miles of golden sand offer to soak up some much needed sun on the beach, or just enjoy your time in the great outdoors without the need for a coat!

The Mediterranean

A cruise around the Greek Islands is the perfect way to recharge in October or November, as whilst the wind and rain are blowing in back home, you will be happily relaxing in the sun with temperatures around the mid 20°Cs. There are myriad stunning beaches on which to while away the hours, or if you fancy something a little more energetic, Greece’s incredible historical sites make for fascinating day trips. Step back in time to the era of the Gods with an excursion to Knossos on the island of Crete. Once the capital of Minoan Crete, you can still walk around the ruins of its once great palace and learn about the ancient Minoan civilisation. In Greek mythology, Crete was also the birthplace and home of the terrible Minotaur, whom was slain by the great hero Theseus.

The Caribbean

Image and video hosting by TinyPicThe Caribbean is the perfect holiday destination any time of year, but makes for a particularly welcome break deep in the throes of winter. Leave the snow and ice behind, and board one of our beautiful ships that will take you on a tour of some of the most idyllic island retreats in the world. If you’re setting sail on one of our Western Caribbean cruises, you will get to stop by our private island resort of Labadee. Framed by the beautiful mountains of Haiti, there is nowhere better to unwind than Labadee. Whether you simply want to lie on the pristine white sands and get stuck into your holiday book, or get your adrenaline pumping with some water sports, there is a WOW moment for everyone at Royal Caribbean’s little slice of paradise. For a real thrill, why not take on the Dragon’s Breath Flight Line, for a high-speed ride down our 731m zip line over crystal clear waters with views that will take your breath away.

Australia and the South Pacific

Fly south for the winter, and embark on an unforgettable cruise around the islands of the South Pacific. Not only is this an impossibly beautiful part of the world, it also has a rich culture and some fascinating local customs. During your time at Vila in Vanuatu, immerse yourself in Melanesian culture with a shore excursion to Ekasup Cultural Village, and get a rare glimpse at their traditional way of life. Watch as local islanders weave traditional baskets, mats and hats, and learn about their natural remedies and medicines, before being treated to a vibrant performance of music and dance.
