Destination Moments Around The World

By HarryTuesday 24th January 2017

Here at Royal Caribbean, we’re continually breaking the mould of stereotypical cruise holidays. Our incredible ships and extraordinary destinations give you, our guests, a different perspective of the world, as well as plenty of time to reflect on your unique holiday moments.

We’ve highlighted just a few holiday destinations and offered some extra useful top tips for you to get inspired about creating your next extraordinary moment. Those moments you can’t wait to tell your friends about. The moment that stays poignant in your memory long after you get back from your holiday. From big to small, spectacular to intimate, unexpected or planned, these are the times when you can’t help but stand back, soak up the experience and think ‘wow.’ St Kitts, Caribbean 1 Fancy creating one of those moments on a Caribbean island, soaked in history? Previously known as ‘Saint Christopher Island’, St. Kitts is home to a number of pristine beaches as well as a fascinating local culture. Imagine paddle-boarding on tranquil waters, the sunshine on your back and the sound of the sea your only distraction. Enjoy a picnic on the stunning sandy beaches, stopping by Banana Bay to lie back and unwind by crystal clear water. Let your everyday worries slip away as you take a deep breath of warm ocean air. Visit Cockleshell beach; the perfect destination for the kids to build sandcastles, or snorkel amongst brightly coloured shoals of fish. Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, St. Kitts is the perfect destination to unwind and relax, allowing time for making picture perfect memories with your nearest and dearest. Traditional St. Kitts dishes are certainly unique; freshly-caught seafood, rich goat meat and tasty breadfruit are all treats that you should indulge in whilst visiting! Testing tantalising new foods on your taste buds can ultimately make those holiday moments even more memorable. Use it to recharge your batteries at local restaurants after taking a hike up Mount Liamuiga; a 3,792-foot-high mountain and one of the highest points in the Caribbean. Trek through luscious rainforest and visit isolated villages before stopping at the summit to admire panoramic views of the neighbouring islands. This is the ultimate extraordinary moment that is both rewarding and memorable. Barcelona, Spain 2 Barcelona’s buzzing culture offers exciting new moments around every bustling street corner! Whether you’re nibbling on delicious tapas at a busy local café, marvelling at the city’s many churches and cathedrals or appreciating the stunning work of Gaudí, Barcelona is the exact opposite of boring. Visit Gaudí’s masterpiece, the unfinished yet beautiful Sagrada Família, or take a stroll down lively Las Ramblas, picking up some local souvenirs and trinkets to take home with you. Enjoy authentic Catalonian cuisine, such as flavoursome Jabugo ham, or fresh Pan Con Tomate, a starter where you add your own garlic and tomato to fresh bread. Let the kids try a delicious crema Catalana, Spain’s version of creme brûlée, and treat yourself to a small glass of sumptuous Spanish liquor, the perfect finish to any meal. Don’t miss a stop at La Boqueria Market, a paradise if you consider yourself a true foodie. Málaga, Spain 3 Known as the province’s capital of culture, Málaga’s restored historic centre is a true delight. Visit its astounding Gothic cathedral, surrounded by both traditional and modern bars and eateries. If you fancy an eerie excursion, visit the Caves of Nerja – these caves stretch over five kilometres, some of them home to prehistoric cave paintings, hidden amongst the stalagmites and stalactites. See if you can spot the encased real-life human skeleton, thought once to be an inhabitant of the caves! A sight that you’ll never forget. Need even more whirlwind adventures for you and your kids? Then take the family to Tivoli World Theme Park; make your holiday twist and turn on a rollercoaster or speed around on go-karts! The adults can take a break to relish their surroundings in a cable car trip up to the top of Málaga’s mountain. Views span for miles across Benalmádena, Málaga and Marbella, and on a clear day, you can even see as far as Gibraltar Rock, as well as the edge of Morocco. When you’re so busy making extraordinary moments, you can sometimes forget to stop and take a rest. Fortunately, Málaga is renowned for its idyllic beaches, sumptuous sea food and beach-side restaurants, so if you find yourself needing a break, find a spot to drop your bags and lay in the warm sand before diving into pearly blue waters or indulging in some traditional Malaga cuisine. Pack your bathing suit, prepare your taste buds and don’t forget your sun cream – the capital of Costa del Sol can get pretty toasty! Labadee, Haiti 4 The second your toes hit the soft sands of Labadee Beach, you’ll instantly think that you’ve been welcomed into paradise. The ideal location to create an extraordinary moment; lounge on the beach, enjoying the relaxing waves lapping at the shoreline, or make your heart race on the Dragon’s Breath Flight Line, a 2,600-foot-long zip line that overlooks the ocean. If that’s not enough excitement for you, the Dragon’s Tail Coaster will send you flying through the jungle at an amazing speed – fun for all of the family! For those who love to splash around, why not cool down at an aqua park, snorkel through crystal clear waters, or enjoy a relaxing catamaran tour as you enjoy the sunshine? From the adrenaline junkie to the sun lounger, Labadee has something to offer for every type of guest. The island welcomes all visitors with open arms and a cocktail in hand.

These four destinations are only a small snippet of the extraordinary experiences we have to offer our guests. Each destination is an extraordinary moment waiting to happen, a photograph to take, and a memory to cherish. Explore all of our destinations and create your very own dream holiday.
