Caribbean Classics

By HarryTuesday 03rd November 2015

Have you experienced the wonders of the Caribbean? Have you experienced the wonders of the Caribbean?

Hands up if you’ve been to the Caribbean on a Royal Caribbean cruise! Hands up if you had the time of your life – us too! To celebrate everything there is to love about this delightfully warm and spectacularly beautiful part of the world, we’ve created the ultimate checklist. We’ve chosen some of our all-time favourite activities and unmissable experiences at breath-taking destinations, to give you the Caribbean Classics checklist. How many can you tick off?

Swimming with stingrays in Grand Cayman

Have you met Sugar Ray, Ray Charles and Martha Ray? If you’ve been swimming with stingrays in Grand Cayman you would have. These unique creatures inhabit the shallow waters of the Stingray City sandbar, alongside hundreds of other rays. They love interacting with people, and are fascinating to watch.

Parasailing in Labadee

Parasailing may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for us it’s an unforgettable Caribbean Classic. Prepare to be thrilled as you soar over 400 feet into the air and experience a view like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Look down at the crystal-clear waters, sandy stretches and the lush green landscape that can be seen across Haiti.

Kayaking in CocoCay

CocoCay is one of our favourite destinations in the Caribbean, and if you’ve ever visited, you’re bound to agree. Our very own private island resort, CocoCay offers all kinds of activities that you and your family will love – including kayaking! You’ll glide through the Caribbean waters, passing starfish and stingrays, alongside the white sandy beaches which are dotted with palms.

Airboating in Belize

Airboating in Belize – what could be better? After a tour of the city, you’ll board an airboat that will take you on a scenic tour, along a mangrove-lined waterway, to Almond Hill Lagoon. Keep an eye out for slow-moving manatees, exotic birds, iguanas and crocodiles, as your tour guides amp up the speed.

Zip-lining in the Dominican Republic

This one is for all the adventurous cruise lovers out there. You’ll fly through the rainforest, high in the canopy, enjoying breath-taking views of Samana Bay and the Samana Mountains beyond. Experience this unspoiled natural habitat from above – it’s a sight that’s not to be missed.

Exploring in Mexico

No trip to Mexico would be complete without a visit to Chichen Itza, a Mayan archaeological site that is counted as one of the Wonders of the World. As you explore these impressive ruins, you’ll be blown away by the pyramid of Kulkulcan and the many epic buildings which were once part of this Mayan civilisation.

Riding the aerial tram in St. Lucia

Your ride begins with a 30-minute journey to a small village, located 2000 feet up, nestled in the mountains surrounding Castries. From here, you’ll board an aerial tram and embark on an amazing tour through St. Lucia’s forest reserve. Expect unobstructed views of unspoiled forest, as birds sing out around you.

Golfing in Honduras

A favourite among many of our guests, golfing at the Black Pearl Golf Course in Honduras is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. This 7200 yard, par 72, 18-hole championship course is located between rolling hills and the beautiful Caribbean waters – you couldn’t ask for a better location to play a round.
