Adrenaline-Fuelled or Chilled Out Caribbean Cruise?

By HarryTuesday 03rd December 2013

chilled caribbean cruise

Are you a fully-fledged adrenaline junkie, or do you love nothing more than chilling out by the pool?

There’s so much to see and do in the Caribbean for those who like their holiday action-packed - but with its beautiful beaches and crystal waters, it’s also the perfect destination to unwind. From racing across the waves on a speed boat to soaking up the sun on the beach, the Caribbean is the ideal setting for any cruiser. Here’s our guide to making the most of your Caribbean cruise.

Caribbean cruise chill out

Royal Caribbean cruise ships dock at a number of Caribbean islands, where golden shores and clear blue skies are the norm. Take a swim in the warm, crystal clear Caribbean Sea and relax as the tropical fish dart through the water. If you want to explore the exotic marine life, just pop on your goggles and snorkel, and gently float above the ocean’s bed. Our private Haitian island, Labadee, is ideal for those times you just want to unwind beneath a palm tree. Hammocks hang above the white sand, cocooning you as you read your new book. If you want to completely escape reality, take a family-friendly island getaway. A modern catamaran will sail you across the water to the other side of Labadee, where you can enjoy the island’s mountainous landscape. Here you and your family can relax by a private bar, or grab a floating beach mat and rest upon the sea. If you want to explore the Caribbean landscape at your own pace, why not take your family on a relaxing, scenic nature walk along the coast of St. Maarten? Take in the wonderful Caribbean scenery as you stroll around the city’s colourful architecture and take in the picturesque sights.

Get that adrenaline pumping

If you enjoy speed and adventure then you’ll love touring the Caribbean islands by speed boat. Whizzing along the sea, waves lapping at the boat with the warm breeze on your face is great fun for thrill-seekers. Speed boats circling the island of Labadee can reach speeds of up to 50 mph– sounds pretty exciting to me! Want to learn a new skill you and your family can brag about to friends back home? Try scuba diving! Specialists in Curacao will give you all the lessons you need to pass the Scuba Diver Certification Course, giving you the skills to explore the enchanting marine life of the Caribbean Sea. Dive among the forgotten shipwrecks resting on the seabed, and explore the ocean’s haunting underwater caves as you discover the hidden secrets that lie beneath the waves. There’s lots of exciting times to be had on-land, too. Exploring caves, walking along a wooden suspension bridge and riding through the jungle on a 4x4 are just some of the activities on offer (sounds a bit like an Indiana Jones quest!). In Belize your family can join in with the jungle exploration, looking out for rare sightings of jaguars and listening out for the calls of macaws. Can we join you?

I can’t wait!

Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or in need of some quality R&R, we’ve got it covered. Take a look here for our latest Caribbean cruises or on our Caribbean cruise page for more information.
