Our ships are amazing places to be, but our shore excursions make a holiday truly unforgettable…and they cater for all tastes.

Travel is all about experiencing foreign cultures, and we have an extensive programme of sightseeing tours around cities and significant sites in each country we visit. We even offer flightseeing tours, which give you a unique airborne perspective of a region – and a massive buzz, obviously.

You’ll get similarly big kicks from adventure tours on horseback or by 4x4, underwater adventures including scuba diving and deep sea fishing, or once-in-a-lifetime experiences like parasailing.

We’ve tailored excursions for you to appreciate the best of regional food and wine, wildlife, beach life, golf, and cultural programmes taking in music, dance and much, much more!

  • Our cancellation policy is up to 4 days prior to sailing online and up to 24 hours prior to port arrival onboard (most ports)

Family Friendly Tours

We have many especially designed family tours, as your cruise holiday is a time for the whole family to relax and have fun together. 

Look out for the family friendly icon when booking online.  On the vast majority of our tours children under 3 years go free and we offer discounted prices for children aged 4 to 12 years.


Purchasing Shore Excursions

Some shore excursions are very popular so to avoid any disappointment we advise guests to book in advance.  This will secure you place on the tour.  You can book your shore excursions up to 4 days before you board the ship, or once you are onboard.  All our tours are operated on a first come first served basis.

Private and Custom Tours

Want to design a unique shore excursion to maximise your time in port?  We offer two ways to do it…

Option 1: In over 20 of our most popular European ports, you can now arrange for a private vehicle and driver and guide to take you wherever you’d like. From there, you can create your own experience, customising everything from what you visit and how long you stay to where you eat. These options can be booked online up to 4 days prior to sailing.  When booking, please select the language you’d like the guide to speak. 

Option 2:  Our shoreside explorations team can organise and customise your own private tour so you can go at your own pace. You decide what you want to see and do and we’ll get you there. To book your custom itinerary just complete an order form at least 14 days prior to your planned cruise. 

Late Flight?

Instead of sitting around at the airport, why not take advantage of our Late Departure Programme and get longer onboard so you can spend the day resting, relaxing and getting the Royal treatment. Lounge by the pool, grab a bite to eat in the Windjammer and enjoy some of your favourite onboard amenities.*    You can book a late departure online or purchase this option onboard at the Guest Services desk. *Available onboard select European sailings.


Did you know?

You can reserve seats for onboard entertainment, times for dining, sports and onboard activities in advance to make sure you get times that suit you.  Get your holiday your way and pre-book online up to 90 days before your cruise.  If you are sailing in less than 4 days, you will need to make your reservations on board.
